Our Setup
The Office of the Arbiter For Financial Services is an autonomous and independent body with the power to mediate, investigate, and adjudicate complaints filed by eligible customers against financial services providers licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), the financial services regulator in Malta.
The Arbiter is totally independent and impartial of all parties concerned to the complaint.
The Arbiter for Financial Services is Mr Alfred Mifsud.
The day-to-day management of the Office is the responsibility of a Board (referred to as the Board of Management and Administration), headed by a chairperson. The Board, which is not involved in deciding cases, has the following key roles:

help ensure that the Arbiter has adequate resources to handle his work;

oversee the efficiency and effectiveness of the Office; and

advise on the strategic direction of the Office.
The Board of Management and Administration within the Office of the Arbiter for Financial Services is made up of a chairperson and two members:
